An RFQ template for apparel buyers
A good apparel RFQ includes the tech pack, fabric and trim specs, quantity by size and colour, target price and incoterm, required certifications, sample requirements and delivery date.
The seven parts of a useful RFQ
Product and tech pack. Materials with composition and weight. Quantity split by size and colour. Packaging and labelling. Target price and delivery terms. Testing and certification needs. The date you need goods at the port.
The more complete the file, the fewer clarification rounds before a real quote.
Make quotes comparable
Ask every factory to quote on the same sheet: unit price, MOQ, lead time, sample cost and payment terms. Differences hidden in assumptions are the main reason quotes cannot be compared.
On ZUSHI, an RFQ goes to matched factories and the answers come back in one place to compare and negotiate.
Start from the tech pack
If your tech pack lives in MYTH PLM, it already holds the BOM, materials, trims and production files an RFQ needs. The direct MYTH to ZUSHI handoff is coming soon.
FAQ
How many factories should I send an RFQ to?
Enough to compare, usually a small shortlist that fits the product. Sending to many unsuited factories adds noise.
Should the target price be in the RFQ?
Yes, when you have one. It saves time for both sides.
